VITRINE Exhibition in Tehran, Coordinated by Parisa Tashakori and Majid Kashani | 2014
“Vitrine”, the exhibition of selected book covers created during 35 years by contemporary Iranian graphic designers, was held in Iranian Artists’ Forum, Tehran.
This project, which is the result of two years of effort by Parisa Tashakori and Majid Kashani, presented significant works of 100 designers who were selected and invited to participate in this project.
Ghobad Shiva, Ebrahim Haghighi, and Saed Meshki were the members of the review board who chose the best works of each selected designer for the purpose of the project.
A bilingual book –in Persian and English– based on this event has also been published by Farhangsare-e Mirdashti Publication and with cooperation of Honar-e No.
In the first section of Vitrine Book you can see some articles by Mohammad Reza Riazi, Aydin Aghdashloo, Ebrahim Haghighi, Bijan Seyfoori, Hasan Kiaieyan, and Steven Heller about the history of book cover design in Iran from the ancient era up to the present time.
The second section of the book presents the works of the selected designers.
The Vitrine Exhibition opened on Thursday, June 19, in Momayez Gallery, Iranian Artists’ Forum and continued until June 27.
